This manual is meant to help you settle into your new home as quickly and as seamlessly as possible. In here you find Useful Information meant to guide your stay on a whole range of matters relating to policy as well as services like accommodation, health care and security.

Academic Calendar

2012/2013 SEMESTER DATES

Orientation Week: Saturday 11th August, 2012 to Friday 17th August, 2012 (7days)

Semester One: Saturday 18th August, 2012 to Saturday 15th December, 2012 (17 weeks)

Semester One Vacation: Saturday15th December, 2012 to 26th January, 2013

63rd Graduation: Monday 21st to Friday, 25th January, 2013.

Semester Two: Saturday 26th January, 2013 to Saturday 25th May, 2013. (17 weeks)

Career Development Centre (CDC)

The Career Development Centre (CDC) is a partnership between Makerere University and NFT Consult, a leading Human Resource Consultancy based in Kampala with country offices in Kigali-Rwanda, Bujumbura-Burundi and Dar es Salaaam-Tanzania.

Student's Guild

The Students Guild is a link between the students’ body and the University Administration. It is headed by a Guild President who is democratically elected by the students in accordance with the existing guidelines.
