H.E. Idi Amin Dada (1925 - August 16, 2003) was the President of the Republic of Uganda from 1971 to 1979. He was also the Chairman of the Defence Council, Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, Army Chief of Staff and Chief of Air Staff.
H.E. Idi Amin Dada was the Chancellor of Makerere University from 1971 to 1979. During his term, he conferred upon himself the Doctorate of Law of Makerere University.
